Since 2003, Beijing Holley-Cotec Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. has been working with Tropical Disease Institute of Oxford University (U.K) and SHOKLO Tropical Disease Institute of Mahidol University (Thailand) to successively carry out international multi-center clinical trials for the antimalarial drug Duo-Cotecxin in Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Côte d'Ivoire , Uganda, Congo, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Sudan, Peru and other countries. All experiments were carried out in accordance with the ICH standards and GCP. At present, more than 3,500 clinical tests have been completed to obtain a large number of the original development data, and more than 10 papers have been jointly published, so as to provide an important theoretical basis for the overseas marketing and promotion of Duo-Cotecxin.
In line with the social responsibility of a pharmaceutical company and the strict and realistic working principles of drug development, the company launched the IPT (intermittent preventive treatment) test in early 2009. The test was developed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Duo-Cotecxin as a malaria prevention medicine for infants, children and pregnant women, so as to provide prevention medicine for the antimalarial drug market and populations susceptible to malaria, effectively control the infection and occurrence of malaria, and basically eliminate the spread of malaria. Currently, the test is well progressing.
