n March 9, 2010, WHO Malarial Treatment Guidelines 2nd Edition was published, and the dihydroartemisinin piperaquine component (active components of Duo-Cotecxin) from Holley-Cotec was officially listed into the recommended drug directory and became one of the five ACT components recognized and recommended by the WHO for treating falciparum malaria.

 

The “Guidelines” specifies the efficacy and safety of the dihydroartemisinin piperaquine component as “high quality evidence”, specifies that the dihydroartemisinin piperaquine component can be used for the emergency treatment and therapy of malaria in the middle and late stages of pregnancy, and strongly recommends the component as the first-line drugs for the treatment of uncomplicated malaria in all regions. The publication of the “Guidelines” was a sign that Duo-Cotecxin can be successfully listed into the first-line medication guidance directory of all countries in malaria endemic areas, and was a sign that Duo-Cotecxin, operated by Holley-Cotec for many years, has been recognized by the international academic community and become the first choice therapy for treating falciparum malaria.

 

After five years, under the support of the Ministry of Health of P.R. China and the efforts of the leaders and technical staff of Zhejiang Holley Nanhu Pharmaceutical, Chongqing Holley Wuling Mountain Pharmaceutical (Huawu) and other subsidiaries, Holley-Cotec finally achieved a qualitative breakthrough. Duo-Cotecxin can enter the public procurement bidding market organized by the countries in malaria endemic areas, and can conditionally strive for the international public procurement bidding, which were the important progress for the PQ Certification of Holley-Cotec.
